In partnership with the International Organization for Migration (IOM) and Women’s Union of Nghia Dan, Hagar Vietnam has implemented an Emergency Assistance project for Vietnamese migrant workers returning to Vietnam because of COVID-19. The project will provide multi-purpose cash packages for survivors.

Hagar Vietnam and the Women’s Union conducted in-depth interviews with more than 50 beneficiaries in the Nghia Dan district of the Nghe An province. A two-hour online interview with two beneficiaries was also conducted with the IOM. During the session beneficiaries’ information and needs were verified for the application form. It was an opportunity for Hagar Vietnam staff to utilise their interview skills and share their experience with our partners.

This is the first time Hagar Vietnam has provided support in this way to people impacted by the pandemic. Hagar Vietnam will continue to host other interviews to help our partners complete beneficiaries’ forms. We hope to continue this work to support more people in the future.
