Back again for the third year since its inception, Hagar Singapore’s 40.3 Freedom Race offers participants an opportunity to fight slavery with their favourite fitness or sports activity. Open to everyone of all ages and fitness levels, close to 200 participants and 13 teams comprising friends and family, corporates and church groups joined the virtual race from 4 to 13 November 2022. On top of the three iconic 40.3- themed distance, duration and interval training challenges, an additional steps challenge was added to the fitness mix this year to cater to the growing local fitness interests.

Fundraising for the race has gained significant traction and peaked at over S$310,000, exceeding our S$300,000 faith target. This year, we are extremely grateful for the increased support from corporates who have sponsored the event and rallied employees and partners to join the race.

Recognising the impact of the work that Hagar does amongst vulnerable communities and restoring broken lives, participants have been relentlessly sharing about the race and Hagar’s work on their social platforms to raise critical funds needed to help some of the 40.3 million people who are living in modern slavery. Our work is made possible by the efforts of committed individuals who partner with Hagar to advocate for the restoration of broken lives to wholeness.
