Empower Women with Possibilities

Our Work

What We Do

Everyone deserves to live a life where they are free to thrive.

And yet…

  • 50 million people around the world are victims of human trafficking and modern slavery.
  • One in three women and girls will experience abuse or exploitation in her lifetime
  • The trauma of exploitation and abuse can have lasting and devastating impacts on survivors.

Hagar’s work is rooted in the belief that every individual deserves freedom, dignity and a life free of exploitation.

The Whole Journey

At Hagar, we are committed to walking the whole journey of restoration alongside survivors of human trafficking, slavery and abuse. From the moment an individual enters our care, we use a trauma-informed care approach to assess their needs, provide intensive services, and rebuild trust and resilience.

Our dream is that each survivor will be a champion for change in their own life and community.

As Jacob Heals, His Love For Learning Grows

When Jacob arrived at Hagar’s boy’s shelter in Afghanistan, he was sad and angry. He was only 12 years old but trauma was already etched on his face.

Over the next few months in Hagar’s care, Jacob began to heal.
